Giglio: Amidst a Cost of Living Crisis, ‘Gas Tax Gray’ Shamefully Dodged the Vote to Provide Relief

Updated: Mar 14, 2022

ADAM GRAY ABSTAINS FROM GAX TAX SUSPENSION VOTE ON THE VERY SAME DAY CALIFORNIA HIT NEW RECORD HIGH AVERAGE $5.74 PER GALLON

[MADERA] — David Giglio, the Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in California’s 13th Congressional District, released the following statement in response to Democrat Adam Gray dodging the key vote to suspend the statewide gas tax:

“We are in the midst of a cost of living crisis and voters are feeling the pain of it from the grocery store to the gas pump,” Mr. Giglio said. “Yet, on the very same day AAA reported a new record high average per gallon in California, ‘Gas Tax Gray’ shamefully dodged a vote that would have provided voters real relief.”

Last month, Adam Gray abstained from voting on a key vote regarding the ongoing state of emergency surrounding the pandemic. While he dodged 3 in 10 controversial votes during time in the state assembly, he did cast the deciding vote on the statewide gas tax.

“Adam Gray dodges difficult votes to fool people into thinking he’s a 'moderate' and not one of the radicals who’ve helped pass these anti-working class policies," Mr. Giglio further stated. “Hiding from 30% of ‘key votes’ in your career doesn’t make you a ‘moderate’.”

“It makes you a coward.”
