Clovis, California (December 19th, 2023) – Today, David Giglio, the only America First Republican running for Congress in California's 20th District, releases the following statement after far-left activist judges on the Colorado Supreme Court removed President Donald Trump from the state’s ballot:
“Today's decision by the Colorado Supreme Court to strike President Trump from the ballot is a shocking display of disregard for the principles that our nation holds dear. Far-left judges ignored due process and the rule of law and chose judicial activism instead.
President Trump has neither been charged, tried, nor convicted of insurrection. In America, we believe in a system where individuals are convicted in a court of law, not in the media or by an opposition party. The decision by the Colorado Supreme Court to undermine this foundational concept is deeply troubling.
This action reeks of third-world banana republic behavior, where political opponents use the legal system as a weapon to silence those with whom they disagree. We cannot stand idly by and allow our democracy to be tainted by such blatant abuses of power.
The Republican Party must wake up to the fact that the left's lawfare against conservatives won't end with President Trump. This is not just an attack on one individual; it's an assault on the principles that make America great. Unless we stand up and fight back now unless we put an end to this abuse of our legal system, America as we know it will be lost.
I call on all freedom-loving Patriots to condemn this egregious overreach by the Colorado Supreme Court.”
